Today’s graphic designers must know current technology and be aware of the rapidly changing image markets. Our training focuses on design and creativity while providing intensive technical training. Learn design fundamentals and concepts development as they relates to typography, composition and colour. Discover what makes the difference between ordinary images and powerful, effective graphics. Strengthen your design communication skills and develop your style and vision as you transform your concepts into finish designs.
The course outline contains the latest technologies and principles been used in the industry by creative minds. Participants will learn hand on and work on a project from the artistic point of view using Coreldraw & Photoshop.

Requirement
Skill Requirement
No previous design skill is required for this training but all student are expected to have good computer usage skill.
Hardware Requirement
All student are expected to come for the training with a laptop with a mouse and a drawing Book/pencil
Software Requirement
All participant for this training are expected to have installed on their system; CorelDraw and Adobe Photoshop

DAY 1 – RUDIMENTARY CLASS- 4HRS
- What is Graphics design?
- Element & Principles of Design
- The role of sketching in the design process
- Practical Session: Drawing and Setting up an artwork (1 hour)
- Understanding Layout/ Pictorial composition
- Typography
- Visual communication
- Problem solving measures
DAY 2 – USING CORELDRAW TO DESIGN – 4HRS
- Fast facts
- CorelDraw Basics
- The workspace (Actual versus Virtual tools)
- Drawing Basics (Working with shapes- trimming, welding, etc)
- Practical Session: Drawing (2hours 30mins)
DAY 3 – USING CORELDRAW TO DESIGN – 4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Working with Text (Paragraph text versus artistic text)
- Adding colour
- Working with picture(s)
- Practical Session: Design a business card (2hours 30mins)
DAY 4 – USING CORELDRAW TO DESIGN – 4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Saving your work (Different File formats)
- Special effects: ( Distortion, Drop shadow, Transparency, Text wrap)
- Practical Session: Design a flyer ( 2hours 30mins)
- Software limitations discussed
DAY 5 – USING PHOTOSHOP TO DESIGN – 4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Fast facts
- Photoshop Basics (Staying organized: typical Adobe Experience)
- The workspace (Actual versus virtual tools) Setting up preferences
- Understanding pixels
- Practical Session: What photoshop can do (Working with layers, text, pictures)
DAY 6 – USING PHOTOSHOP TO DESIGN – 4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Practical Session: Picture cropping (2hours 30mins)
- Saving your work (Different File formats)
- Drawing in Photoshop (1hour)
- Using more than one software to carry out a design
DAY 7- USING PHOTOSHOP TO DESIGN-4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Practical Session: Preparing pictures for use (cropping, post, production effects, etc)
- Image optimization and colour management
- Practical Session: Designing a pixel-perfect web banner/ Saving for web (1hour)
- Using the various Photoshop filters
DAY 8- MOTION GRAPHICS (GIF ANIMATION)- 4HRS
- Practical Session: Drawing (30mins)
- Studying GIF samples
- Understanding persistence of vision and how the human eye sees animations
- Emphasis on Storyboarding
- Practical Session: Simple GIF
WORKSHOP & PRESENTATION – 4HRS
